Chapter 54: Discharge
to stop me Do you know who I am I'm the mother of your mistress! Let me in at once.""I said no, even if you are the wife's mother, I can't let you in unless the husband agrees." Aunt Song remained un...Aunt Song turned her head and smiled at Fu Xiaoyao. Then, when she turned back to look at Lu Hanchuan, her expression darkened again.
It was obvious that she was angry with Lü Hánchuan.
Lu Hanchuan was also seeing Song Yi get angry at him for the first time, and he was taken aback.
"Sir, as a servant of the Lu family, there are some things I shouldn't say. But I really can't help myself." Aunt Song crossed her arms.
Lu Hanchuan pursed his lips, "What do you want to say"
"Your wife is your wife, right" Aunt Song asked.
Lu Hánchuan glanced at Fu Xiayao, "And then"
Fu Xiaoyao's eyebrows shot up.
Is this even an answer
"Since Mrs. Fu is your wife, Mr. Fu, have you ever truly treated her as your wife" Song Yi pointed at Fu Xiaoyao.
Lu Hanchuan's face darkened, "When have I not treated her as my wife"
"Do you have any" Aunt Song patted her chest. "Sir, ask yourself, in your heart, is your wife truly your wife How can a husband not stay by his sick wife's side in the hospital, but instead goes to take care of another woman"
Upon hearing this, Fu Xiaoyao suddenly lowered her head, feeling a surge of grievance welling up inside her.
Aunt Song continued, "I know you still have feelings for Miss Qi, but sir, you're married now. The person in front of you is the one you should spend the rest of your life with. Miss Qi is in the past. It's not normal or right for you to be together with her still."
"Auntie Song, you've overstepped!" Lu Hanchuan's cheeks flushed, his voice as cold as ice. "There are some things I know what to do and what not to do, there's no need for you to lecture me!"
"Sir, I'm not lecturing you, I'm just offering some pointers on how to be a husband." Aunt Song sighed.
Fu Xiaoyao saw that Lu Hanchuan's face was getting worse and worse, she reached out and tugged at Song Yi's sleeve, "Aunt Song, stop talking."
"Madam..."
"I'm fine." Fu Xiaoyao smiled at her, but there was an undeniable sadness in her smile.
If Lü Hánchuan really knew what to do and what not to do, he wouldn't be so close to Qí Yǎ. He would have stayed away long ago.
Actually, everyone could see that he was wrong, but only he thought he was right.
Because he loved Qi Ya, he didn't think there was anything wrong with how he treated her.
Thinking about this, Fu Xiaoyao gave a self-deprecating smile. "Hanchuan, you go back upstairs. I'm a little tired and want to take a nap. I won't keep you company."
"Huh" Lu Hanchuan frowned unpleasantly, "Fu Xiaoyao, explain to me, what does this character 'hui' mean"
Fu Xiaoyao looked at him deeply, without answering.
Under her such gaze, Lu Hanchuan inexplicably felt a surge of annoyance.
"Aunt Song, go out first!" He waved his hand to shoo her away.
Aunt Song sensed something was off between the two of them and tactfully left.
Only Fu Xiaoyao and Lu Hanchuan were left in the ward.
Lu Hanchuan took a step forward and repeated the question from before, "Fu Xiaoyao, tell me, why did you use the character 'hui'"
“It’s nothing really, just hearing you say that you came from Miss Qi, I thought you came to the hospital to see her. If you don’t go back soon, she will be looking for you.” Fu Xiaoyao said with a smile, trying to appear nonchalant.
But her smile, in Lu Hanchuan's eyes, was particularly jarring. It inexplicably made him dislike it.
"Is that what you really want me to do To find her" He stared into her eyes, his face cold and tinged with barely restrained anger.
Fu Xiaoyao didn't understand why he was angry, and she didn't think much about it. Anyway, for her, his occasional anger had already become a habit.
"It's not that I want you to go find her, it's just that you never intended to stay with me all along, did you" Fu Xiaoyao looked at the man's handsome face and replied seriously.
Over the past two or three days, he'd mostly been staying at Qi Ya's place. He hadn't even visited her this many times in a lifetime.
Whenever there was any movement or commotion at Qi Ya's place, he would immediately disappear.
Just like last night, he was so tired, but as soon as Qi Ya woke up, he immediately left.
Lu Hanchuan listened to Fu Xiaoyao's words, his thin lips pursed, without refuting.
She's right, he never intended to stay here all the time.
It's mainly Xia Ya that makes him uneasy.
"Hanchuan, you go ahead. I've been reviewing for hours and am really tired." Fu Xiaoyao yawned and asked him to leave again.
Although Lu Hanchuan was a little unhappy, seeing her sitting in the wheelchair now, he still suppressed the discomfort in his heart.
Then, he pulled his hand out of his pocket, bent down, and scooped Fu Xiaoyao up from her wheelchair in a horizontal carry.
Fu Xiaoyao was taken aback by his actions, and it took her a while to recover. Her face flushed crimson.
"Hanchuan, what are you doing Let me down!" she cried out, both embarrassed and flustered, her hands waving helplessly in the air.
"Shut up!" Lu Hanchuan growled, not stopping. He held her and walked towards the hospital bed. "Let me down, can you get back to bed on your own"
Fu Xiaoyao choked.
It seems like that's not possible.
Although her legs were fine, she couldn't stand up straight because of the pain in her back. She couldn't even stand, let alone get back to bed.
Fu Xiaoyao obediently closed her mouth and stopped shouting for Lu Hchuan to put her down. Instead, she gathered her courage and wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning against his chest motionless. Inside, she was secretly delighted.
This was his first time holding her.
Lu Hanchuan carefully placed Fu Xiaoyao on the hospital bed, covered her with a blanket, and made sure she was comfortable lying down before softly opening his lips and saying, "Sleep now. I'm leaving."
"Good." Fu Xiaoyao blinked.
Lu Hanchuan smoothed his sleeve and walked toward the door.
Fu Xiaoyao watched him leave, her arms wrapped around the blanket. She kept watching until he closed the door and disappeared from sight. Only then did she loosen her grip on the blanket, letting out a low, sad laugh.
Although he was driven away by her, when he really just walked away without looking back, she still felt a little uncomfortable.
But reminiscing about Lu Hankan's just-now gentle princess carry, Fu Xiaoyao felt a sweetness in her heart again.
If her body allowed it, she really wanted to roll around in bed.
If he could always be so gentle with her, that would be wonderful...
With such a ludicrous hope, Fu Xiaoyao closed her eyes and gradually drifted to sleep.
Several days later.
Shao Si Nian pulled his hand away from the desk, and with a swish, opened the patient file folder. "Congratulations to you sister-in-law, you can be discharged."
"Really" Fu Xiaoyao asked in surprise.
Seeing her so excited, Shao Si Nian inexplicably felt his mood lift. The frivolous smile on his face softened considerably, "Of course it's true, we can handle the discharge procedures now."
"Great!" Fu Xiaoyao stretched, "I'm almost going to be stiff from lying in bed for the past few days. Now I can finally get out of here."
"Madam, shall I go and take care of the procedures first" Aunt Song was happy to see her so cheerful and felt joy for her as well.
"Thank you, Auntie Song," Fu Xiaoyao nodded.
After Aunt Song left, Fu Xiaoyao got out of bed and started packing her things to prepare for discharge from the hospital.
Shao Si Nian leaned against the wall, watching her. "About your discharge, do you want to tell Han Chuan and have him pick you up"
Fu Xiaoyao's movements suddenly stopped, "Forget it."
"Why"
"He's probably too busy these days and hasn't come to see me. Even if I asked him to pick me up, he's probably too busy." Fu Xiaoyao lowered her head and continued packing, her expression unreadable.
Shao Si Nian stroked his chin, his eyes darkening. "But how did I hear that he's not busy lately and comes to the hospital every day Didn't he come to see you even once".Aunt Song also knew why she didn't believe it.After all, what he did was something that no one would believe if anyone else had done it.In most people's eyes, loving someone means treating her well,...
