Chapter 57
ood in many ways, from my perspective, he does not seem to be a suitable match for Miss. It's only because of the Grand Ancestor’s ancestral precepts that I still worry for you; if the Emperor were to...The Spoiled Young Noble Consort of the Crown Prince sodu
When Cloud Qianyue heard Ye Tianqiong's voice, her expression darkened even more.
"So Qianyue is the master sought after as the destined person to seal his brush" After following Night Tianqiong out, Prince Cloud also asked in surprise when he saw Venerable Lingyin blocking in front of Cloud Qianyue.
"Whether it counts or not, hurry up! My wrist is almost broken." Ignoring Ye Tianqiong and Prince Cloud, Cloud Qianyue was feeling irritable. She could only think that she had such bad luck! Since she arrived here, there wasn't a single good day to her name yet. This series of storms were about to kill her. Could it be the previous owner of this body lived in water and fire every day Oh heavens...
"Amituofo! Buddha seeks those who are destined, but both parties must willingly agree. Although I am willing, Miss Qianyue clearly is not. If I force a divination on her, it would be considered forcing the will of others, which goes against the compassionate teachings of Buddhism. In other words, at this moment, the time has yet to come." Venerable Lingyin looked at Cloud Qianyue as he clasped his hands together, "Let's call it a day!"
"That's what you said!" Cloud Qianyue suddenly brightened up.
"Yes, I said that. I will wait for the day when Miss Qianyue wishes to seek her fortune and divinate then. This prediction is left until another day." Venerable Lingyin nodded as he spoke.
"Brother, did you hear Don't let go of me yet!" Cloud Qianyue turned around and looked at Yun Muhuan with a smug expression.
Yun Muhuan frowned. He tightened his grip on her wrist even more as he faced Venerable Lingyin, "Master, you travel the world and make your home wherever you go. We don't know when or where we will meet again. If there is an opportunity today to seek destiny, it should be grasped firmly. Please complete this divination!"
"Prince Cloud, a fortune telling requires sincerity in heart for it to work. Miss Qianyue has no sincere intentions at the moment; even if we were to perform a divination now, it wouldn't come true. The universe is vast and boundless; those with destiny can meet across great distances while those without might not recognize each other even when face-to-face. Although I travel far and wide, my traces aren't entirely lost. If Miss Qianyue wishes to find me in the future, she will still be able to." Venerable Lingyin shook his head as he said to Yun Muhuan, "Let go of her."
"Did you hear Sincerity is key! My dear brother!" Cloud Qianyue stretched out her voice and glared at Yun Muhuan.
"Qianyue, let the master..." Prince Cloud also found this a rare opportunity. He couldn't understand what his daughter was thinking in her mind. Sighing, he could never understand her from when she was young to now.
"Are you all annoying or not Don't make me angry!" The expression on Cloud Qianyue's face darkened.
Prince Cloud immediately stopped talking.
Yun Muhuan looked at Cloud Qianyue with a very helpless look. He had no choice but to slowly let go of her hand.
Cloud Qianyue rubbed the wrist that had turned red from being squeezed, and glared fiercely at Yun Muhuan as she waved goodbye to Venerable Lingyin, "We'll meet again in another life!" Finished speaking, she went towards Rong Jing's carriage.
"We shall indeed meet again! Miss Qianyue may find herself seeking me out one day," Venerable Lingyin smiled and said as he watched the quick figure of Cloud Qianyue.
Cloud Qianyue snorted, and walked to the carriage made from fragrant sandalwood. She reached up and pulled back the curtain before climbing in. The black carriage with its curtains drawn couldn't be seen inside anymore.
"Master, we shall indeed meet again!" Rong Jing smiled faintly as he bowed slightly towards Venerable Lingyin.
"Prince Jing, we shall indeed meet again. No need for excessive courtesy here. Prince Jing have a safe journey!" Venerable Lingyin clasped his hands together and smiled warmly in response.
"Indeed!" Rong Jing nodded and turned to walk towards the carriage. Although he walked slowly, he quickly reached it, reaching up to pull back the curtain before entering the carriage. Soon after, a voice came from inside: "Rong Xi, you ride my second sister's carriage home."
"Yes, Prince Brother!" Rong Xi obediently nodded as she went towards Rong Linglan's carriage.
String Song had been waiting by the carriage for some time. Seeing the two of them get in, he immediately raised his whip and drove off.
"I also hope to not meet Master again! I don't like listening to monks chanting." Night Qingran waved at Venerable Lingyin as he went over to lead his horse.
"Young Prince have a safe journey!" Venerable Lingyin clasped his hands together and smiled once more.
"Hey, aren't you supposed to be going in the carriage" Night Tianyu shouted from behind Night Qingran. He hastily bowed towards Venerable Lingyin before immediately following him up.
"Sister Moon probably has a foul mood right now; I don’t want her to dislike me at this moment, so let her vent her anger on the weakling beauty!" Night Qingran sighed. He felt guilty for not being able to help her! But he couldn't be blamed either; that elder of the Yun Family was quite cunning. If he provoked the old man's hatred, it might well seal Moon away where she wouldn’t see him again, and with no martial arts skills left, she probably wouldn’t get out by herself. He naturally didn't dare to act under Yun Muhuan’s threat.
"Hm, indeed. Sister Moon seems different." Night Tianyu also sighed as he recalled Cloud Qianyue's cold face towards Prince Cloud earlier. That face was truly foul!
"What is so different about her I think it's just her true nature showing," Night Qingran loosened the reins and swung up onto his horse, spurring it to gallop down the mountain path at breakneck speed.
Looking thoughtful as he frowned, a slight gleam appeared in Night Tianyu’s eyes before he turned towards his carriage.
Yun Muhuan nodded at Venerable Lingyin who also nodded back. He then walked towards his own carriage.
"Prince Charming and Prince Cloud, we shall indeed meet again!" Venerable Lingyin said to Night Tianqiong and Prince Cloud.
"When will the master leave Lingtai Temple" Marquis Yun inquired. He was still thinking that he couldn't convince Shallow Moon to divinate this particular divination, but maybe Old Lord could.
"This monk will depart shortly after being invited by Daoist Brother Donglin Hai." Venerable Lingyin said.
Marquis Yun was startled. "Master is going to the Eastern Sea Then what if Shallow Moon changes her mind and wants a divination, how would she find you"
"Rest easy Marquis Yun, Miss Shallow Moon's will is resolute. She won't be searching for this monk anytime soon. Perhaps not even in her lifetime. Buddhism emphasizes on the principle of karmic timing. Marquis Yun should refrain from being overly stubborn," Venerable Lingyin said with a smile.
Marquis Yun nodded, sighing inwardly.
"Father sent me to pray for blessings and bathe in Buddha's voice this time, I gained much benefit. Father originally wanted to invite Master into the palace for several days of worshipping Buddha, but since Master will be traveling afar now it seems that won't happen. When will Master return I hope we can meet again during the next blessing festival," Night Tianqiong asked.
"The journey to Donglin Hai is long and uncertain. At minimum one or two years, at most five, but more than ten years isn’t out of the question either. Prince don't fret." Venerable Lingyin looked at Night Tianqiong seriously as he said: "This monk will give a word of advice to Prince: what is destined to happen cannot be avoided and what is not meant to happen should not be forced upon oneself. One must have a compassionate heart and a broad mind in order to enjoy boundless skies and lands. Otherwise, misfortune could arise out of one’s own intentions. Prince, please take this to heart."
"Tianqiong understands. I will certainly keep it in mind," Night Tianqiong nodded as he turned toward the carriage.
Rong Linglan immediately followed.
Marquis Yun bowed and also headed towards his own carriage.
The carriages, like when they came, formed a long line going down the mountain. In front of them Rong Jing's carriage had already vanished from sight; behind them the carriages were just starting their journey, creating a striking landscape as they descended the mountainside.
"Amitabha!" Venerable Lingyin clasped his hands together towards the sky with a look that was both compassionate and sighing.
"Uncle Master, is Miss Shallow Moon really different" Abbot Ciyun asked Venerable Lingyin. "Does she have karmic ties to Buddha Otherwise why would you insist on her"
“She's not in any way connected with Buddha." Venerable Lingyin smiled, unwilling to continue the conversation as he turned back towards the temple and said: “I should also start getting ready for my journey.”
"Abbot Ciyun really wants to leave together with Uncle Master. But I didn't expect something like this to happen to Prince Jing and Miss Shallow Moon, nor that the twelve golden statues would be stolen. Now we're tied down. Probably Emperor won’t let Lingtai Temple off easily," Abbot Ciyun sighed.
"If there’s trouble, seek out Prince Jing at the Rong王府. He will surely help for this monk's sake." Venerable Lingyin said: "You don't need to worry, Lingtai Temple should have no major problems. Those twelve Buddha statues...don’t think about them anymore. Leave it to Emperor and Crown Prince to deal with."
"Uncle Master is right!" Abbot Ciyun nodded.
As they spoke, the two entered the temple. The gate closed behind them, bringing quietness once more to Fragrant Spring Mountain after several days of commotion.
In a carriage made of agarwood, until reaching the bottom of the mountain Cloud Shallowmoon kept her face solemn as she looked at Rong Jing. Rong Jing leaned against the side of the carriage and seemed not to have noticed Shallowmoon's frosty look; since getting into the carriage he had been reading a book with rapt attention. His graceful fingers turned the pages now and then, making a light sound each time.
Half an hour later, feeling bored and unable to fall asleep, Shallowmoon also picked up a book but read it upside down.
Rong Jing's eyelid flickered as he glanced at Shallowmoon before lowering his gaze back into the book.
The two did not speak in the carriage, each absorbed in their own reading. Outside the carriage, the sound of wheels rolling over the ground and a jumble of horse hooves could be heard continuously. After descending the mountain, the ride on the official road was smoother.
Night Qingran rode up to the carriage. "Shallowmoon sister, what are you doing Are you riding or not I'll give you a lift!"
"I'm not going," Shallowmoon didn't even look up.
"Still angry After ten miles from here, I will change direction to the Military Affairs Camp. If you want to race with me, it’ll have to wait for quite some days." Night Qingran said.
Shallowmoon raised her head and frowned. "The Military Affairs Camp is far away from the capital"
"The Military Affairs Camp is located in the Western Mountains, about fifty miles from this capital city. It's not very far. But half a month later will be the annual martial arts exam. This year Uncle Emperor issued an edict that would expand the scope of the examination to include all martial scholars and young men from various states and counties, as well as commoners who have passed the top three ranks in their respective areas. Those with excellent performance in the military can also participate. The top three will be promoted by three ranks directly. The champion will receive an official title and a general's position. Most importantly, there’s an opportunity to engage in combat with the Weak Beauty. Since I’m in charge of Military Affairs Camp, naturally I need to return and handle this matter. Probably half a month later before I can find some free time to look for you to play." Night Qingran explained.
"So it is like that! So there will be another commotion in half a month" Shallowmoon glanced at Rong Jing, seeing his indifferent expression. She thought this year the crown of the strange genius would definitely be given up as this guy had lost all his strength and was now powerless.
"Yes, naturally!" Night Qingran nodded.
Shallowmoon put down her book and reached out to lift the curtain. "If that’s the case, then I’ll go out to ride with you."
Before Shallowmoon could stretch out her hand, Rong Jing stopped her and addressed Night Qingran outside: "Now it's broad daylight; how can she ride with you After seven years of traveling have your wits worn thin as well Don’t forget this is the capital city of Heavenly Holy Empire, not a remote wilderness. While you might not care about reputation, she does."
Shallowmoon turned her head to look at Rong Jing; when did she ever care about such nonsense
"That's right! Little miss, you're correct. I didn't consider everything carefully. In half a month after the event, I'll come to challenge you in horse racing," Ye Qingran nodded and said, "Then, I will head to the War Machine Encampment!"
"Alright then!" Yun Qianyue agreed. Indeed, less trouble was better than more. Although she wasn't afraid of any bad reputation or rumors, it would still be troublesome for her. She always avoided unnecessary complications.
Rong Jing let go and continued reading.
Yun Qianyue, however, reached out to lift the curtain slightly. She saw that Ye Qingran had already left on his horse. The steed was galloping swiftly; he sat upright with grace. Even just a silhouette looked so elegant. As she watched him leave, Ye Qingran seemed to feel her gaze and turned back to give her an odd face while loosening the reins. She chuckled at the sight of this easy-going person. Her smile remained on her face until she could no longer see Ye Qingran's figure.
Rong Jing looked up briefly with a soft voice, "Draw the curtain down; you're blinding me."
Yun Qianyue retracted her gaze and harrumphed, "I only lifted the curtain slightly for one small gap. How could it blind your eyes You must be daydreaming!"
Rong Jing didn't even look up as he replied, "Your laughter looks like a lovesick person's; naturally, that would be blinding."
Yun Qianyue was immediately enraged. She kicked him hard with her foot and glared at him, "Best for you to shut your poisonous mouth. Ye Qingran is much better than you, so I will smile at him of course. A lovesick person looks more pleasant than you." She remained upset about his refusal to help earlier.
Rong Jing suddenly put down the book and looked at Yun Qianyue.
Yun Qianyue glared back at him, "Isn't what I said correct"
A slight flicker appeared in Rong Jing's eyes as he grabbed her wrist tightly with one hand. He pulled her forcefully until she was right before him and looked down at her with a very low voice, "Hm Repeat your words just now."
"Hey! Let go!" Yun Qianyue tried to pry open his grip on her wrist but found that the person in front of her, though devoid of power, was stronger than her. She glared at him angrily and said, "What are you talking about What I said is fact."
"Fact" Rong Jing's eyes suddenly deepened like a clear spring.
Yun Qianyue was stunned. She stared at his eyes without noticing that they were changing color. Suddenly, he leaned in closer towards her, lowering his head to approach her face.
She was startled and tried to dodge but could not avoid it; she could only look as his face neared hers, magnifying the refined elegance of lotus-like purity enveloping her. She hurriedly said, "Hey Rong Jing, what are you doing"
"Didn't you say my mouth was poisonous Let me let you taste it and see if I can poison you to death," Rong Jing continued moving his head towards Yun Qianyue's lips while still holding her immobile with his wrist. He whispered.
Her heart raced as she panicked, staring at his lips nearing hers. She was tongue-tied even though she usually had sharp words. She never experienced such romantic tension before and felt that she would be overwhelmed by his aura; it seemed like her heart might leap out of her chest.
Rong Jing looked at Yun Qianyue's panic-stricken look, his eyes flickering as he murmured softly, "Whether I can poison you to death isn't up to you to decide. Only when we test it will we know…" His lips touched hers.
Yun Qianyue felt her breath and heartbeat stop; everything else seemed far away except for the person before her and his cool lips that were feather-light. She froze stiffly, immobile.
Rong Jing lightly touched Yun Qianyue's lips barely leaving a trace as if he didn't touch at all. He suddenly pushed her away, closed his eyes, leaned against the carriage wall and sighed in disgust, "You're truly repulsive; forget it!"
Yun Qianyue felt like she was on a roller coaster ride. Hearing Rong Jing's words, she got an electric shock in her brain as all her panic instantly vanished. She glared at him angrily, "You bastard, you…"
"If you curse me again, I'll really give it a try even if I'm not willing," warned Rong Jing.
Yun Qianyue stopped speaking abruptly. Although her heart was grinding in hatred, she held back the words. She pressed on her chest and thought to herself that she shouldn't be angry, shouldn't be angry; after all, they were almost home anyway. In the future, she wouldn’t have to see this poisonous-mouthed, venomous-hearted man anymore! Just endure for now!
The carriage fell into silence.
To avoid being annoyed, Yun Qianyue turned her back and didn't look at Rong Jing. She cursed him a thousand times in her heart!
Rong Jing saw the back of Yun Qianyue who was still puffing with rage; he smiled slightly and gently pressed his lips before letting his hand fall silently, then closing his eyes again. His long eyelashes cast a shadow on his face making him look enigmatic.
They rode in silence until they smoothly entered the city.
Awaiting at Yun Shangfu’s gate was Yun Meng with people already there; as soon as he saw Rong Jing's carriage, he immediately approached and said, "Thank you for sending our Miss back to the residence. The Old King requested that His Excellency should be invited to have a meal before returning to the Honor王府門口,雲孟早已帶著人等候。
Yun Meng gazed blankly at Rong Jing's carriage as it moved away. He hurried after Yun Qianyue and shouted, "Miss, the Old王爺 asked you to go over there immediately upon your return; he’s been waiting for you in his room!"
Originally intending to return to the Qianyue Pavilion, Yun Qianyue stopped in her tracks and went around to enter the courtyard of the Cloud Old王爺. Her steps were heavy as she walked past several flowering plants that she kicked down along the way; frustration lingered in her heart.
"Aiyo, my dear Miss! This is a golden quality peony you just ruined," Yun Meng followed behind and quickly picked up the flowers she had knocked over. He was distressed and complained loudly.
Yun Qianyue seemed to hear none of it; her mind was still occupied by Rong Jing’s actions and words earlier.
"Miss, I know that you were wronged this time at Lingtai Temple. Don't worry, the Old王爺 is investigating! Justice will be served for sure. He’ll find those responsible for harming you and Young Prince Jing!" Yun Meng followed two steps behind Yun Qianyue but dared not get too close, fearing she might kick him down.
Yun Qianyue snorted without responding.
Not wanting to provoke her further, Yun Meng remained silent. He thought that both Miss and Young Prince Jing seemed off today; perhaps it was due to the lingering frustration from being imprisoned for three nights in the underground temple He hoped that the Old王爺 could cheer up his miss.
Upon reaching the courtyard of the Cloud Old王爺, Yun Meng stopped while Yun Qianyue entered on her own.
"You stupid girl! Do you still know how to come back Every time you go out, you do something foolish!" The old王爺's voice echoed from inside his house as he berated Yun Qianyue.
Yun Qianyue immediately stopped and turned around to leave. She wasn’t in the mood for a scolding right now; she might even end up pulling out this old man’s beard if she entered.
"Hey, stinky brat! Come back here!" The Old王爺 shouted when he saw Yun Qianyue turn around and leave.
"I'll only come in if you promise not to scold me. If you still want to scold me, I’ll wait until you’re done tomorrow," Yun Qianyue threatened while facing away from the Old王爺.
"You stinky brat! Do you dare rebel" The Old王爺 snorted and glared at her.
Yun Qianyue remained silent, continuing to walk out.
"Sigh… come back. I won't scold you," the Old王爺 conceded when he saw Yun Qianyue walking away.
The frustration in Yun Qianyue’s heart dissipated halfway; she turned and came back inside.
Jade Bracelet stepped out with a smile, greeted Yun Qianyue, who nodded at her. Yun Qianyue then walked into the room as the Old王爺 stood before the desk copying calligraphy. He snorted when he saw her enter, "Stinky brat! Where did your arrogance come from after just a few days"
Yun Qianyue also snorted and plopped down in front of him, glancing at his copy before angrily saying, "Who told that good-for-nothing Rong Jing to take me to Lingtai Temple I nearly lost my life there. If I died, where would you find a granddaughter as smart as me"
"With Young Prince Jing protecting you, how could you die Don't talk nonsense!" the Old王爺 scolded her.
"He almost died himself!" Yun Qianyue was still upset from all her efforts to save that guy who hadn’t appreciated it in return.
"Even if he were dead, he would protect you," The Old王爺 looked at the look on Yun Qianyue’s face when she mentioned Rong Jing and blew out his beard. "What's with this murderous look Did he offend you"
"He offended me big time! I never want to see that person again!" Yun Qianyue declared.
"You stinky brat, do you think anyone wants to see you If not for my thick face sending people to the Prince Jing’s residence at Glory王府to protect you, how could he have protected you Who is Young Prince Jing and who are you You’ll never see him again; he won’t even want to look at you!" The Old王爺 glared at Yun Qianyue before snorting.
"That works for me. I'm glad," Yun Qianyue immediately said.
"You stinky brat, you're asking for it!" the Old王爺 threw his brush at Yun Qianyue’s head.
"Grandpa, if you want to hit me, just do it and I’ll leave," Yun Qianyue glared at the old王爺. This old man's habit of verbally abusing and hitting people needed serious correction.
The brush came to a stop an inch from Yun Qianyue’s forehead. The Old王爺 stared at her, his chest heaving, "Stinky brat! You truly dare rebel I’m going to hit you no matter what; try walking out!"
Before the words had finished leaving his mouth, Yun Qianyue felt a solid smack on her head.
Yun Qianyue snorted and glared at the Old王爺. She naturally wouldn’t dare leave but after glaring for a while she saw him looking so angry that if she tried to resist he would hit her again; suddenly, she kicked her legs out and began crying loudly.
The moment her cry started, tears flowed profusively.
Just at this moment, footsteps entered the courtyard. It was Yun Wang and Yun Muhuan who had returned afterward. Upon hearing Yun Qianyue’s cries, they exchanged a look before quickly heading for the room.
The Old王爺 immediately panicked, dropping his brush as he looked at Yun Qianyue crying uncontrollably; he hurriedly said, "Hey stinky brat! Why are you crying
Cloud Qianyue ignored him and just kept kicking her feet while crying loudly, making the table bang noisily.
"I... I didn't hurt you when I hit you..." The Old Marquis Cloud looked at a loss as he watched Cloud Qianyue.
Cloud Qianyue's cry grew even louder and she refused to answer him.
"Alright, alright, it was my mistake. I shouldn't have hit you. I..." The Old Marquis Cloud reached out to wipe away Cloud Qianyue’s tears but was pushed away by her. He didn’t get angry, instead he said with a smile: "Grandpa knows that you're feeling wronged. Be good, don't cry anymore... I won't hit you again."
Cloud Qianyue continued to cry and kick the table, causing it to sway violently. The calligraphy scrolls and writing brushes on it were about to fall off but she didn’t seem to notice them. She kicked as hard as before.
"Stop crying!" When seeing that coaxing her wouldn't work, the Old Marquis Cloud shouted angrily.
Cloud Qianyue’s cry suddenly grew even higher and sadder in his ears, like someone had died.
The old marquis was shocked. He looked at Cloud Qianyue whose tear-stained face made him look worried and he immediately lowered his voice to coax her: "Grandpa was just playing with you! Do you need to be this upset My dear granddaughter, stop crying now and tell me who hurt you so that I can go kill the little brat for you."
"Qianyue, talk properly. Don't cry..." The Marquis Cloud couldn’t bear it either and hurried over to comfort her.
Yun Muhuan quickly came up to steady the table and saved an expensive inkstone as well as a pile of calligraphy scrolls from falling off. He didn’t say anything but watched with his eyes flashing as tears streamed down Cloud Qianyue's face like a fountain.
"Oh dear, it’s truly grandpa’s mistake!" The Old Marquis Cloud apologized humbly.
“Qianyue, look your grandfather has already confessed and apologized to you. Stop crying now….” The marquis cloud had never seen the old marquis apologize to anyone before, not even the emperor would dare to offend him. He hurriedly tried to comfort her again.
Cloud Qianyue thought it was about time she stopped too, so she did stop crying but tears continued to stream down her face as if they couldn’t be stopped. While sniffling and wiping her nose, she looked at the Old Marquis Cloud’s worried old face and asked, "Do you really know that you're wrong"
"Yes, yes... Grandpa truly knows I was wrong," The Old Marquis Cloud nodded repeatedly.
“Will you not scold or hit me anymore” Cloud Qianyue asked again.
"No, no. Even if you hit grandpa from now on, grandpa won’t hit you..." The old marquis immediately responded.
"That little bastard Rong Jing bullied me, will you avenge me" Cloud Qianyue asked resentfully.
The Old Marquis Cloud was at a loss for words as he looked at her. "Uh... That's...
“Qianyue, why would the Prince Rong ever bully you He’s been taking care of you on Fragrant Spring Mountain! If it hadn’t been for him rescuing you that day, where could you be sitting now” The Marquis Cloud looked at her. "When you just came back from Lingtai Temple weren’t you getting along well with the Prince Rong What happened”
“Who says we were getting along well That’s only because I hate Night Tianqing more than him. So, to avoid him, I chose his carriage.” Cloud Qianyue couldn’t stop herself from venting now that she had started.
The Marquis Cloud concluded after hearing this: “It must have been some misunderstanding between her and the Prince Rong.” To the old marquis he said with a smile: "Father, she’s suffered greatly these days. Now that she was rescued from captivity, all those feelings of委屈are probably bottled up inside her. Since you scolded and hit her, it's only natural for her to feel upset."
“You stinky brat! Ah…” The Old Marquis Cloud heaved a sigh of relief when seeing that she finally stopped crying. He patted her shoulder and consoled her: "Don’t cry anymore. Grandpa knows you’re feeling wronged, but it’s also because you’re stupid. How could you let yourself be tricked without knowing"
“How would I know about that disgusting love potion” Cloud Qianyue was still upset at the thought of it.
The old marquis's face darkened: "Who dares to use such despicable means against my granddaughter! They must be wanting to die." He then glared at her, blaming her. "You stinky brat, Prince Rong is such a good boy! Didn’t you know how to take the opportunity for him to become your cure Why did you have to eat his Heavenly Mountain Snow Lotus Pill instead If he had cured the love potion for you, I would marry you off to him in an instant. He’s much better than you this stinky brat!"
"Hey! Are you still my grandfather" Cloud Qianyue glared at him with tears hanging on her face and her eyes red from crying. She couldn’t understand the old man's mindset. How could Rong Jing be a hundred times better than her
“I am your grandfather, of course! You stinky brat are becoming more and more useless. If you get bullied, can't you bully back All you know is to come crying back to grandpa,” The Old Marquis Cloud said before turning to Yun Muhuan: “And you too, if she’s a stinky brat for not knowing how to take the chance, at least you’re smarter. But still, you got tricked by that despicable love potion! If Prince Rong hadn’t given you his Heavenly Mountain Snow Lotus Pill to cure you, would you have waited to die The heir of Cloud王府, the only legitimate son, waiting to die This is ridiculous!”
Cloud Qianyue thought he finally started targeting her. She looked at Yun Muhuan.
Yun Muhuan pursed his lips and remained silent.
"Furthermore, Qingwan isn’t ugly and you can use her as a cure without any problem. Who knows what will happen in the future I don’t believe she has nothing to do with this matter either. You saved her life; if you want to marry her, just do it. If not, we’ll discuss it later. But no one’s life is more important than your own. You’re so useless!" The old marquis looked at Yun Muhuan as though he was full of rage and slapped the table with his hand: "Don’t you know who you are How can you talk about death so lightly"
Cloud Qianyue silently gave him a thumbs up in her heart, thinking that this old man is really ruthless!
Yun Muhuan remained silent.
The Old Marquis Cloud looked at both of them and said angrily: “The two of you are truly making me angry!”
"Father, please calm down. They are still children; it's normal for them to be careless and fall into traps. Please don't blame them..." Cloud Marukun tried to console the old Cloud King.
"You're not even as good as them! Don't forget how your women entered the door!" The old Cloud King raged.
Cloud Marukun immediately stopped talking, his face turning slightly red.
The old Cloud King seemed to have had enough of berating people. After a tiring session, he instructed Cloud Mumuhann, "Tomorrow you should go to the palace and visit that Princess Qingwan. It's said she has woken up but her mind isn't quite right yet. The emperor heard that you returned today and is asking for you to spend more time with her."
"I won't go!" Cloud Mumuhann refused firmly.
"Are you really as stupid as you're acting She's the one most related to this incident now. I heard the stinking brat ate some pastries from her, and on that day when you had a meal at her place, it must be related to her in regards to what happened to you both. Even if she was unaware, she is still the victim. However, there must be clues around her surroundings. If you want to investigate now, you have to start with her!" The old Cloud King said.
Cloud Mumuhann's tone remained cold and hard, "I still won't go!"
"You can't not go! You must go! I'll see who dares to harm my granddaughter and grandson behind their backs," the old Cloud King insisted firmly. "Anyway, the emperor gave you two months off to teach that stinking brat how to read and understand account books. So you should focus on accompanying that little princess. As for the matter of teaching her reading and studying accounts, I'll find someone else."
"Who will you hire" Cloud Qianyue asked, looking at the old Cloud King, as this would affect her future.
"Whomever you hate the most," the old Cloud King answered bluntly.
The person she hated the most was Night Tianqiong! Cloud Qianyue instantly glared with tears threatening to fall.
Before she could squeeze out a tear, the old Cloud King cut in firmly: "Squeezing tears won't help now. Don't think I'm too senile to see through your ploys. If you don’t listen obediently, tomorrow I will go to the palace and ask for the emperor's permission to marry you off! It’s better than having you around here to irritate me."
"That’s not fair! I need rest now, understand Rest means doing nothing!" Cloud Qianyue was thoroughly frustrated.
"Learning how to read won't exhaust you. You don’t even have to move your hands and feet. Plus, it looks like you’re in good spirits lately. Just eat well to replenish yourself," the old Cloud King countered her objections. "Besides, either Crown Prince or Visionary Young Master! Choose one."
"I won't choose anyone!" Cloud Qianyue declared angrily.
"Since you refuse to choose, I will go to the palace tomorrow and ask the emperor for permission to marry you off. After all, you're almost of age now. The emperor might be considering your marriage already!" said the old Cloud King.
"You..." Cloud Qianyue glared fiercely at the old Cloud King.
"Glaring won’t help," he replied firmly. "I’ll comply with all your demands except for this: you must learn to read and understand account books."
"You’re tyrannical! A fascist!" she snapped, turning her head away, unwilling to deal with him further.
The old Cloud King didn’t quite understand what she meant but knew it wasn't a compliment. He harrumphed and told Cloud Mumuhann: "That’s settled then. Tomorrow you will accompany that little princess. I’ll send someone to inquire if the Crown Prince has time, and if he does, let him teach that stinking brat. It wouldn’t be fair to burden Visionary Young Master all the time."
Just thinking about Night Tianqiong made Cloud Qianyue feel nauseous. She declared: "I don't need his teaching!"
"Then who do you want" the old Cloud King raised an eyebrow.
"Alright, just that weakling," she sighed
The old Cloud King replied, "The emperor mentioned this matter in the morning court session today and entrusted it to the Fourth Prince for full handling. Thus, Crown Prince will definitely have time."
"Is there no one else who could teach me" Cloud Qianyue asked.
The old Cloud King gave a cold snort, "You’re my grandchild and legitimate daughter of the Cloud王府。容景那小子雖然嘴毒心狠,但總比夜天傾好多了。要是天天對著夜天傾的臉孔,她估計自己會瘋掉。

"You are my granddaughter and the legitimate daughter of Cloud王府," he answered coldly. "Who else has the qualifications to teach you"
Cloud Qianyue raised her eyes to look at the ceiling, seeing a spider laboriously weaving its web with a mosquito trembling as it carefully flew over and got stuck in the web. The spider quickly moved over and devoured the insect. She suddenly felt that the old Cloud King and Rong Jing were like that spider, weaving a large net around her tiny self, then slowly devouring her.
"Stinking brat, stop looking at the ceiling; you won't see any flowers there," said the old Cloud King.
“淺月,你聽話。爺爺也是為你好。景世子才學冠絕天下。能得他教導是你的福氣。我看景世子對你也不錯,明日早些去榮王府請他幫忙,他一定會答應的。”雲王爺也勸道。

The old Cloud King concluded with a wave of his hand, "You all may leave now. Don’t stand here and irritate me."ng.“Mister Rong, it’s the middle of the night now!” Yun Qianyue couldn't help but remind him."Anyway, you slept all day and aren’t sleepy," replied Rong Jing as he opened his eyes to glance at Yun Qia...
