Chapter 25: Death Is Not to Be Regretted
lanced at Zhao Kehan and thought it must be about her.Zhao Kehan, with a hint of amusement in her voice, replied: “Tianyu told me last night that when he was informed someone would come to pick him up...Chapter 25: Death Is Not to Be Regretted
Yun Qianyue looked ahead, where the army of forty thousand was clearly unprepared for a surprise attack from all sides. They emerged disheveled with large knives and spears in hand, causing chaos instantly.
Ye Qian's first step indeed caught them off guard.
However, Ye Qian herself did not join the battle but stayed at the rear to give commands. The two thousand soldiers were clearly well-trained, outnumbering their opponents and surrounding them from three sides, causing a bloody scene.
"I am Princess Ye Qian, the direct descendant of the Southern Border royal family who will become its future queen! I forgive your temporary misstep if you choose to surrender," shouted Ye Qian at the soldiers defending themselves.
“Surrender quickly and receive forgiveness from the princess! She will spare your lives!”
“Surrender quickly and receive forgiveness from the princess! She will spare your lives!”
...
The people protecting Ye Qian followed her, shouting loudly.
The loud calls cut through the battle cries with great force, echoing throughout Fen Water Bay.
Yun Qianyue realized that Ye Qian had successfully disrupted their opponents' morale in her second step.
"Ye Qian, I am your uncle! I am Prince Ye Xiao, a direct descendant of the Southern Border royal family," shouted an imposing figure from within. "Don't believe anything she says! I was forced to rebel against my own bloodline because they tried to kill me."
The soldiers who had just lost their morale rallied once more upon seeing Prince Ye Xiao.
"Claiming lineage A hundred years ago you betrayed the Southern Border and still dare to return claiming your rightful place" asked Ye Qian, sneering as she saw Ye Xiao. "Thirty years ago when you wanted to claim your lineage, Grandfather pitied your branch that had been cast out and allowed you back. But later on you turned into a wolf with ambitions of seizing power. You tricked him to his death. How could you even dare set foot in the Southern Border now"
"I have always walked uprightly, adhering to reason," shouted Ye Xiao angrily. "A hundred years ago your great-grandfather's branch rebelled against the Heavenly Kingdom and followed it to unify China. The Southern Border ended up becoming a vassal state under their rule. What does a young girl like you know about this"
"Reasoning with Heaven doesn't justify slaughtering one’s ancestors or committing patricide," snapped Ye Qian in return. "A hundred years ago, when your branch was cast out of the Southern Border, why did you come back Thirty years ago it wasn't you who plotted against my grandfather."
"I have always resided within the Heavenly Kingdom and just began my tenure as a minister thirty years ago. How could I possibly return to harm anyone in the Southern Border" retorted Ye Xiao loudly, revealing his true identity of Chancellor Qin. "I am the true bloodline of the Southern Border, while you are merely a remnant of the previous dynasty."
"Chancellor Qin, so you finally reveal your face You claim to be Prince and that's laughable! The Southern Border royal family has no such prince!" snapped Ye Qian angrily. "I am the direct descendant of the royal family of the Southern Border, known by many. How dare you call me a remnant from the previous dynasty"
Ye Xiao snorted coldly and said, "The current Queen Consort is a remnant of the previous dynasty's Mu clan, her daughter can only be another remnant."
Yun Qianyue was surprised to hear these words from Chancellor Qin.
"You are lying! My mother was a commoner," shouted Ye Qian angrily upon hearing this.
"Do you have a jade pendant around your neck Does it have the character Mu engraved on it" asked Ye Xiao, staring at Ye Qian’s neck.
Ye Qian's face changed slightly as she replied angrily, "No!"
"Ye Qian, don't deny it," said Ye Xiao angrily. "That jade pendant is a hereditary item of the Mu clan and also the token of a princess from the royal family. Your mother isn’t just any commoner but a remnant of the Mu clan."
“Stop making such nonsense here! If I, Princess of Southern Border, don't deal with you, a traitor, as my ancestors would have done, I’ll be ashamed to bear the name Ye!” said Ye Qian without further ado, sending a black mist towards Ye Xiao.
Ye Xiao laughed loudly. "Since you don’t respect me as your uncle, neither will I show you any courtesy! Let’s see what true magic of Southern Border royal family is like," he shouted and threw his own dark smoke at Ye Qian.
The black mists from both sides were not just simple dark clouds but contained black granular substances within them.
Yun Qianyue sat on her horse, watching the two of them. With a glance, she saw that there was indeed a jade pendant around Ye Qian's neck, one which she had seen before when they shared a bed together but hadn't paid much attention to at the time. If it truly bore an engraving of 'Mu', then what Ye Xiao said would be mostly correct.
Thinking back to the day when Mo Ju found information about the Southern Frontier's maternal uncle, it was recorded that twenty years ago, the Southern Frontier's maternal uncle brought two sisters to meet with the Southern Frontier King and the South Liang King on Fairy Mountain. After some conflict, one sister married the Southern Frontier King while the other married the South Liang King. But their identities remain a mystery until this day. If they were orphans of the previous dynasty's Mu Meng clan...
The two circles of black mist collided with each other and emitted several sharp crackling sounds.
Yun Qianyue's thoughts were interrupted when she saw Ye Xiao take a step back, followed by Ye Qian taking two steps back.
After retreating two steps, Ye Qian made another move. This time her aura was even more fierce than before; the black mist no longer contained dark particles but brown ones instead.
Ye Xiao also launched his attack again, with an even fiercer aura this time; the black mist within was now filled with red particles rather than black ones.
The two black mists collided in mid-air and emitted several sharp crackling sounds. Unlike before, they didn't explode upon contact but instead engaged in a back-and-forth struggle for some moments until flames rose up between them, illuminating the surroundings brightly.
Yun Qianyue quietly observed as both parties fought each other, while simultaneously keeping an eye on the battle. After such a long time, she still hadn't seen Qin Yuning appear; the soldiers from both sides were fiercely battling, and the smell of blood grew increasingly strong.
Suddenly, shouts came from the direction of Fen Shui City: “Support our princess! Defeat the rebels! Guard Southern Frontier's territory!”
“Support our princess! Defeat the rebels! Guard Southern Frontier's territory!”
“Support our princess! Defeat the rebels! Guard Southern Frontier's territory!”
...
The shouts grew louder and more intense, like waves crashing one after another. Drums sounded loudly, and cries echoed across the battlefield as if tens of thousands of soldiers were charging towards Fen Shui Bend, making the earth tremble under their hooves.
Yun Qianyue followed the sound to see that Fen Shui City’s gates had opened wide, with a dark mass of people and horses surrounding them. Clearly, they were forming an encirclement together with Ye Qian's two thousand soldiers.
Seeing Yun Muhuan leading troops out from Fen Shui City, Ye Qian tightened her lips into a smile, which soon turned to a fierce expression as she suddenly seemed to surge with energy, forcing Ye Xiao several steps back in an instant.
Although Ye Xiao's face flashed with panic for a moment, he quickly recovered and became vicious. He suddenly threw two fiery objects at Ye Qian from his sleeve.
Ye Qian was not weak either; she tossed two fiery objects back at Ye Xiao from her sleeve as well.
Yun Qianyue clearly saw that they were giant red scorpions and two red centipedes.
The red scorpion and the red centipede clashed, emitting two explosions before both perished simultaneously.
Suddenly, Ye Xiao recited something in his mouth; the severed bodies on the ground seemed to come back to life, flying towards Ye Qian all at once.
Ye Qian's expression remained unchanged as she also muttered a phrase, causing weapons scattered on the ground to fly back towards Ye Xiao.
The severed corpses and weapons clashed in mid-air around them, making a constant clattering sound.
With her face covered by a veil, Yun Qianyue still smelled blood and watched calmly.
A group from Fen Shui City was about to charge into the camp when suddenly those at the front screamed in pain as both horses and men fell. The second wave also met the same fate; before they could approach, screams echoed as people fell again.
Yun Qianyue narrowed her eyes and saw that there was some dense fog over there, making it hard to see clearly.
"Madam Chu, go welcome Muhuan!" Ye Qian shouted at Yun Qianyue upon hearing the screams from their reinforcements.
Yun Qianyue sat motionless on her horse and said calmly: "Don't worry. It's just a small formation that Marquis Yun can handle."
Ye Qian seemed to agree, no longer saying anything more.
Yun Qianyue looked in the direction of the screams but didn’t move away from where she was. Given what Ye Qian had said earlier when they were drinking at South Frontier's palace, especially that sentence, “I now have no other desires for others; I know clearly what I want. My relationship with my marquis will be a steady stream that grows over time. Otherwise, living together without love would be too miserable. No matter how hard it is, I will make myself fall in love with him,” she had to protect Ye Qian and not let Chancellor Qin succeed in his schemes for Yun Muhuan’s sake.
"Everyone back!" Yun Muh寒 shouted loudly.
The soldiers stepped back together, and a moment later, no more screams of pain came from that spot.
Yun Qianyue waved her hand to disperse the black mist swirling in front of her. She could see clearly now, and faintly saw Yun Muh寒's stern face looking at where the soldiers' horses had just collapsed and screamed. A hazy blue figure sat there, and she squinted.
"Blue Family Head, when I first arrived, I saw you sitting in the formation, reciting scriptures" The sinister voice of Feng Jin came from behind a moment later as he rode up to Yun Muh寒's side. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "Are you not greedy for worldly matters anymore Do you want to become a monk But if you do, shouldn't you be in a nunnery rather than sitting here"
"There is nothing wrong with me liking this place to sit and drink tea. Do you want to come in for a cup of tea, Feng Family Head" Lan Yi's voice sounded.
"Since Blue Family Head invited me, I must give you some face, after all we were once engaged." Feng Jin wickedly smiled and suddenly dismounted his horse, flying into the formation.
The moment he entered the formation, black mist suddenly swirled up there.
"Haha, it seems that this formation is not just for Blue Family Head to drink tea, but also Miss Qin!" Feng Jin's laughter came from within the formation as he called out, "Uncle Regent of the Country, don't you want to come in and have a cup Although Miss Qin is the daughter of a rebel, she is still someone from Southern Borderland. Shouldn't you come in to meet your relative"
"No need for family relations! Putting down chaos is more fitting!" The voice of the Uncle Regent of the Southern Borderland sounded as he flew towards the formation from behind at the same time, throwing a person towards Yun Qianyue’s direction. "Madam Chu, it's your man. Catch him!"
Yun Qianyue saw that Shen Zhao was the one being thrown to her and lightly waved her hand to catch him, settling him stably behind her horse.
Shen Zhao seemed a bit disoriented from being thrown and it took him a while to adjust. He hurriedly grabbed Yun Qianyue's arm and asked anxiously, "Miss Chu, how is your body Are you okay"
Hearing the concern in his voice, Yun Qianyue turned back and smiled warmly at him, "I'm fine, don't worry."
"If you're alright then that's good. You scared me to death that day," Ye Xiao sighed in relief.
Yun Qianyue smiled at him and glanced over at the intense battle between Ye Qian and Ye Xiao. Originally, she thought Ye Xiao was very powerful, but now it seemed that Princess Ye Qian from Southern Borderland wasn't just there for show; they were evenly matched. Although Ye Qian hadn’t won yet, she hadn’t lost either. She said to Shen Zhao, "You've been obsessed with the words of that extraordinary person all along. Now try and help Ye Qian defeat him. By killing him, you will have fulfilled your promise."
Shen Zhao nodded and took a bottle of water from his pocket, pouring some into his palm and using his index finger to draw strange symbols on it. Just as he pointed the symbol at Ye Xiao, he suddenly turned to Yun Qianyue and said, "Wait, Miss Chu, this person isn't Ye Xiao."
Ye Qian was stunned; she looked over at Shen Zhao, “He’s not Ye Xiao”
"No, he's different from the person you asked me to find two days ago and the one I fought with on that day," Shen Zhao shook his head.
Yun Qianyue’s expression darkened as she looked at Shen Zhao and calmly asked, "Are you sure"
Shen Zhao glanced at Ye Xiao who was fighting fiercely with Ye Qian and nodded firmly, "Yes, it's not him! My water techniques don't feel familiar when used on this person; they feel very strange. It definitely isn’t the same person."
Yun Qianyue narrowed her eyes. She had already been suspicious about whether Ye Xiao was really as useless as he seemed; even Rong Jing said that Ye Xiao knew several lost forbidden techniques of Southern Borderland that Ye Qian didn't know. But now it seemed like neither were particularly better than the other in their battle. She immediately ordered, "Use your water technique to find where this person is hiding."
Shen Zhao nodded and spread his hands out wide, drawing strange symbols on one hand as he did so. The symbols凝聚成水滴,從與葉倩戰鬥的假葉霄身上轉移,向著汾水河而去。片刻後,沈昭道:“楚姑娘,不好了,他在汾水河上做法。”
"Let's go, I'll take you there!" Yun Qianyue knew that the fake Ye Xiao wouldn't be able to defeat Ye Qian, so she no longer protected her. She grabbed Shen Zhao and they flew towards the汾水河施展輕功而去。
Since this battlefield was near汾水灣,所以距離汾水河不過幾百米遠。片刻後,二人就來到了汾水河邊。
Yun Qianyue剛拉著沈昭飄身而落,汾水河的堤壩忽然崩塌,河水頃刻間四下湧出,向著數萬人打鬥的戰場湧去。
Yun Qianyue
Yun Qianyue話落,洶湧而出的大水忽然停了。
沈昭睜大眼睛,不敢置信地看著雲淺月,“楚……楚姑娘你……”
"快去找宵夜!" Yun Qianyue concentrated the靈氣 in her fingertips and gave a stern command.
Upon hearing this, Shen Zhao did not dare to waste any time and used the method he had just learned to make ghostly notes凝聚成水珠飄向河對岸。 He immediately said, "He is under that old locust tree on the opposite bank of the river."
Yun Qianyue nodded and directed the spiritual energy condensed in her palm towards where the dike had collapsed. She muttered softly, "Pile up and build a dam!"
Instantly, the scattered stones from the collapsed dike gathered together, forming piles that quickly became a new barrier, though it was not as sturdy as before, it managed to stop the water from rushing out.
Shen Zhao's face turned deathly pale. He watched in disbelief and could not utter a single word.
Yun Qianyue put down her hand and said no more. She pulled the shocked Shen Zhao up and they flew across the river, using their lightness skills to step on floating reeds and wood. Although the river was wide, Yun Qianyue's kung fu was exceptional; she leaped several times before reaching the opposite bank.
Under the old locust tree stood two figures: one was an unfamiliar elderly man and the other was Cang Ting.
The two were looking at the suddenly blocked river, unable to believe what they saw. They both wore expressions of shock on their faces.
"Shen Zhao, use your abilities to kill!" Yun Qianyue ordered Shen Zhao solemnly.
Upon hearing this, Shen Zhao was instantly awake and recognized the person as the real Ye Xiao. Water techniques condensed in his palm immediately pointed at Ye Xiao, and he loudly chanted, "Water carries divine spirits, respect my master's teachings, kill this traitor to our nation, quell remaining hatred. Kill!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a water line shot out of the nearby river like a sharp sword, aiming directly at Ye Xiao sitting under the locust tree.
Ye Xiao was also awakened and drew a circle on the table with water before sending another water line towards Shen Zhao.
Yun Qianyue suddenly silently pointed her finger at Ye Xiao and whispered, "Stop!"
The water from Ye Xiao instantly froze. He was startled; his expression quickly changed from shock to horror then fear. Before he could say anything, Shen Zhao’s water had already broken through his defenses, wrapping him up, producing several sounds akin to blades piercing flesh.
Cang Ting also woke up and his face turned ashen. He was about to intervene to save Ye Xiao.
"Young Master Cang, it's been a while!" Yun Qianyue spoke out coldly, looking steadily at Cang Ting.
Cang Ting stopped in his tracks immediately and looked at Yun Qianyue, speechless for a moment.
"Young Master Cang, think carefully before you act. Don't risk your life to help this rebel," Yun Qianyue said again.
At that, Cang Ting's eyes narrowed as he stared at Yun Qianyue, his gaze sharp. "So it was Madam Chu who instigated those toxic creatures to attack me in the mountains"
"Young Master Cang only considers that I instigated the poisonous creatures to bite you but didn't consider that if I hadn't held back, your fate would have been much worse," Yun Qianyue arched an eyebrow, speaking coolly. "Imagine what could have happened if I had not stopped."
Cang Ting's face darkened. "Does this mean Young Master Cang should thank Madam Chu for her restraint"
"Young Master Cang indeed ought to be grateful! If it weren't for my husband being from the Ten Great Families, and by extension, me also being part of the Chu family due to the Red Pavilion's connection with the seven great families, I would not have shown any mercy towards Young Master Cang," Yun Qianyue said calmly.
"Madam Chu is indeed formidable; you truly possess such skill!" Cang Ting's face remained calm.
Yun Qianyue neither confirmed nor denied this statement.
As they talked, the sounds of "sizzling" continued to hit Ye Xiao. Surrounded by water like a cocoon, Shen Zhao’s hand pointed at Ye Xiao with an unwavering expression despite his pale face.
Yun Qianyue had no doubt that Ye Xiao was being tortured by countless blades and swords; she knew that Shen Zhao's current restraint was saving him from further harm as he himself only possessed water techniques without any martial arts skills to defend.
Cang Ting remained silent, pressing his thin lips into a straight line with no intention of rescuing Ye Xiao. Perhaps he realized it would be futile at this point anyway.
A moment later, Yun Qianyue called out clearly, "Shen Zhao, stop!"
Upon hearing her command, Shen Zhao immediately withdrew his hand. The water surrounding Ye Xiao instantly retreated, dragging with it a trail of blood that turned the river red as it returned to its depths.
Ye Xiao, who had been sitting down moments ago, now lay limp on the ground, covered in blood. His body was riddled with wounds, and even his face bore the marks of battle, transforming him into a bloody figure that was hard to recognize.
Shen Zhao’s body swayed as he prepared to fall to the ground.
Yun Qianyue reached out to steady him on his back, sending a bit of her spirit energy through his acupoints. Shen Zhao steadied himself and opened his eyes, turning pale-faced to look at Yun Qianyue without making any sound.
"What’s wrong Do you feel unwell" Yun Qianyue asked gently.
Shen Zhao shook his head. Seeing Yun Qianyue watching him intently for a moment, he then spoke in a hoarse voice, "Just now, I felt a bit off, but it’s much better now."
Yun Qianyue nodded and let her hand drop. She turned to look at Cang Ting with a cool expression on her face. "Does Young Master Cang still intend to stay here"
Cang Ting did not answer but said, “Madam Chu has something in common with someone I know; wherever she goes, men never lack for her company.” He glanced at Shen Zhao and smiled: “Master Chu trusts Madam Chu so much. It truly impresses this young master."
"My husband is a gentleman, naturally without the small-minded thoughts of others!" Yun Qianyue glared coldly at Cang Ting, warning him, "Young Master Cang, if you do not hurry to save Blue Clan’s headmaster now, today's Southern Frontier will bury another soul."
"Should this young master thank Madam Chu for sparing me again" Cang Ting raised an eyebrow.
"Do you also want to be buried in the Southland today This lady can make it happen," Yun Qianyue matched his expression with a raised eyebrow of her own.
Cang Ting suddenly laughed, flicking water stains from his clothes. He gave Yun Qianyue a deep look and said, "Madam Chu, we'll meet again!" With that, he lightly touched the ground with his toes and floated across to the formation on the other side of the river.
Yun Qianyue turned around just in time to see Cang Ting’s figure walking on water as his robes fluttered behind him. His light-footed skills were impressive indeed.
"Miss Chu, did you… let him go Isn’t that setting a tiger free" Shen Zhao asked Yun Qianyue after watching Cang Ting leave.
Yun Qianyue looked back at Shen Zhao and replied coolly, "Ten years ago, my intervention led to the death of his grandfather. I owe him one life for this; let’s call it even." She added, “Besides, the Ten Great Clans haven’t reached a point where they’re killing each other bloodily. There have been enough deaths today."
Shen Zhao nodded but did not say more.
Yun Qianyue stood still as she watched Cang Ting fly over to the formation on the opposite bank. Meanwhile, Ye Qian had her sword pointed at the impostor Ye Xiao and seemed to have discovered that this was not the real Ye Xiao. She shouted in anger, “Where is the true Ye Xiao Where”
The man could not answer.
"Ye Qian, the true Ye Xiao is here—he has been killed by Shen Zhao on behalf of his teacher!" Yun Qianyue’s cold voice rang out. Her voice carried with inner strength and penetrated to the other side of the river, reaching not only Ye Qian but everyone in hearing range.
Ye Qian seemed to just now realize that Yun Qianyue was across the river. She shouted back loudly, "Is it true"
"It’s true!" Yun Qianyue confirmed.
The blade of Ye Qian's sword flashed as she instantly decapitated the imposter Ye Xiao. Sitting tall on her horse, she called out to the troops, “The traitor Ye Xiao is dead! Now surrender and I will grant you amnesty! Those who do not surrender shall be executed!"
Her voice carried with inner strength so that everyone in the battlefield could hear clearly.
The four thousand soldiers under Ye Xiao's command were already reduced by a third, and upon seeing their leader dead, they lost all fighting spirit. They exchanged glances, threw down their weapons, and fell to the ground en masse.
Soon after, those in battle across the battlefield followed suit and knelt down one after another.
The situation instantly turned in Ye Qian’s favor.
At this point, the formation was dismantled. Cang Ting carried Lan Yi out of the formation and gave Yun Qianyue a glance from across the river before leaving. Shortly thereafter, Nanjiang’s Minister of State and Feng Jin exited the formation but did not chase after Cang Ting; rather, they approached the opposite side.
Both individuals were extremely skilled in light-footed techniques; stepping on water plants and floating logs, they leaped across to the other side within ten or more jumps.
The two landed one after another. The Minister of State walked over to Ye Xiao’s lifeless body lying on the ground and said after a glance: "Indeed, this is the true Ye Xiao." Then he looked up at Shen Zhao and praised him, “Young man, you killed Ye Xiao, and from today onward, there's a place for you in this world. Your name will be renowned across the land!”
Ye Xiao twitched his mouth but failed to produce a smile. He glanced at Yun Qianyue and shook his head, whispering, "It was Miss Chu who helped me; otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to kill Ye Xiao. Miss Chu is much more capable than me."
"You killed him; I merely brought you across the river and protected your back." Yun Qianyue knew that earlier when she used spirit techniques to control the water and build a dam, Shen Zhao had been shocked. However, this matter could only remain between her and Shen Zhao's hearts. This credit must belong to him alone. At that time, Cang Ting was on the other side of the river, and the changes in the dam collapsing and recovering happened instantly; he might not have been sure it was her doing.
Shen Zhao was naturally intelligent and immediately understood Yun Qianyue's intentions. He whispered, "Fortunately, I didn't disappoint that extraordinary person!"
The Southern Frontier Marquis came over and patted Shen Zhao on the shoulder. "You have an unlimited future ahead of you!"
Shen Zhao lowered his head slightly and said no more.
Feng Jin glanced at Yun Qianyue, his gaze somewhat heavy, but he didn't say anything either.
"What about Qin Yucning Is she dead" Yun Qianyue inquired the Southern Frontier Marquis.
The Southern Frontier Marquis's expression darkened as he shook his head. "That Qin Yucning was also fake; she wasn't the real one."
Yun Qianyue narrowed her eyes. "Qin Yucning is also a fake"
"Mm-hmm!" The Southern Frontier Marquis nodded, "I was also deceived by her. It's only after killing her that I realized she was fake. With magical tracking techniques, one cannot trace her whereabouts; it appears she isn't in Fen Shui City anymore." Finished speaking, he told Shen Zhao, "Try to track her."
Shen Zhao nodded and his palm guided the spell into a charm. After a moment, he lowered his hand and shook his head, "She's not in Fen Shui City."
"I didn't expect both father and daughter to possess such capabilities; they managed to swap places using decoys." Yun Qianyue was surprised by this turn of events.
"They should have prepared the substitute beforehand, otherwise they wouldn't be so proficient in Southern Frontier spells. They've deceived everyone." The Southern Frontier Marquis looked at Ye Xiao’s dead body on the ground and said, "However, with Ye Xiao's death, it can be considered a major success; ten thousand troops died but the rest were subdued by Qian'er. Little Ye Lingge is just a little girl and won't cause much trouble."
"But what if she went to Southern Frontier Capital After all, Princess Ye is here. If she goes to the Southern Frontier Capital, it might not be good…" Shen Zhao said.
The Southern Frontier Marquis thought about the direction of the Southern Frontier Capital and nodded, "It's uncertain. After Qian'er cleans up the battlefield and counts the troops later on today, she will immediately return to the capital city. Ye Xiao is dead, four thousand troops died one thousand, the rest were subdued; there are ten thousand troops led by Chancellor and General in the capital, a little girl like her won't be able to cause trouble for too long."
Shen Zhao remained silent.
"Let's go across the river! Take this old man's body back to Qian'er so she can take it back to Southern Frontier ancestral grounds as an offering." The Southern Frontier Marquis waved his hand and chopped down a tree, placed Ye Xiao’s corpse on top of it, then used internal energy to lift the log and lightened across the river.
Yun Qianyue reached out to take Shen Zhao's hand but was pulled over by Feng Jin first. He coldly said to her, "Don't forget that you are a married woman; don't get entangled with others!" Finished speaking, he lifted Shen Zhao and followed the Marquis back across the river.
Yun Qianyue thought that Feng Jin was angry again, but at that critical moment, she had no choice but to use spirit techniques. She couldn’t let thousands of troops drown in Fen Shui River; otherwise, what would be the point of her coming all this way to Southern Frontier Looking at Feng Jin pulling Shen Zhao’s stiff figure, Yun Qianyue felt a headache. When did she become a married woman Others might not know, but surely he should know best. She lightly stepped and followed them.
After a moment, the three of them crossed the river. The Southern Frontier Marquis threw Ye Xiao's body away; Feng Jin pushed Shen Zhao aside in disgust.
Shen Zhao was unstable on his feet and fell to the ground. Yun Qianyue came over with her palm outstretched, using true energy to support him. She glared at Feng Jin who coldly snorted. Shen Zhao’s face turned red then pale as he lowered his head and whispered, "Thank you Miss Chu..."
"Don't mind what he says!" Yun Qianyue comforted Shen Zhao.
Shen Zhao looked at Feng Jin, fell silent, and nodded.
At this time, Ye Qian was already standing with Yun Muhuan. She was instructing people to count the troops and clean up the battlefield. Seeing them return from across the river, she immediately walked over.
"Qian'er, that's Ye Xiao!" The Southern Frontier Marquis pointed at Ye Xiao’s corpse on the ground, "Killed by Shen Zhao! Although his daughter ran away, this old man is dead; it can be considered a major success."
Ye Qian glanced at Ye Xiao’s body and nodded. "Indeed him; he doesn't deserve to live!" Finished speaking, she coldly looked towards the Southern Frontier Capital's direction, saying, "Qin Yucning will eventually meet her end too!"
Isn’t spirit technique powerful Isn’t Moon strong Didn’t Chancellor Qin die well If Qin Yucning is still alive, she’s just a piece of cake… O(∩_∩)O Ha!tting late. Let's head back quickly!" After that, he pulled Yun Qianyue towards his carriage.String Song immediately raised the curtains of the carriage for them to get in and ride off.Ye Qingnuan wat...
