Women's teachings! The thing she detests the most!
The moment Yun Qianyue saw this, her face turned bitter. She looked at Rong Jing and suggested with a pleading tone, "Can we change it"
Rong Jing didn’t say anything; he merely lowered his head to look at her, his gaze calm and warm.
After staring back at him for a while, Yun Qianyue saw that he wouldn't budge even by an inch. She sighed in defeat and said helplessly, "Fine! I'll write!"
Rong Jing smiled immediately, reaching out to pat her head. "That’s what I like to see; go write!"
Yun Qianyue twitched at the corners of her mouth, sitting heavily on the chaise lounge and refusing to move. She said in a soft voice, "I haven't eaten yet."
"Write first, then eat!" Rong Jing’s tone was gentle.
"Can I eat first Otherwise, I won’t have the energy." Yun Qianyue looked up at him with pleading eyes.
"I don’t think you’ll lack energy!" Rong Jing shook his head and pushed her away. "Be a good girl and start writing quickly; every minute you drag your feet, another minute of hunger awaits!"
"You’re really heartless!" Yun Qianyue glared at him angrily.
Rong Jing’s eyebrows lifted slightly as he said leisurely, "For this kind of punishment, I’m more than willing to be heartless!"
Yun Qianyue remained seated and stared daggers at him with big eyes. Unfortunately, Rong Jing stood his ground; she sighed again in defeat and slowly got up from his embrace. She moved slowly towards the desk, spread out the paper slowly, picked up her brush slowly, but just as she was about to start writing, she realized that the book wasn’t by her side. She pointed at it and commanded Rong Jing, "Get me the book!"
Rong Jing stood up with the book in his hand and walked over to the desk slowly before placing it conveniently for Yun Qianyue.
Yun Qianyue shot him a glare as she began copying out the women’s teachings.
Standing beside her, Rong Jing reminded her, "You’d better write and remember at the same time. When you’re done writing, I’ll test your knowledge."
"Fascist!" Yun Qianyue glared at him again.
Rong Jing raised his eyebrows; clearly he didn’t understand what she meant but decided not to ask and merely watched her write.
Yun Qianyue struggled as she read the characters, unwilling to memorize them as she wrote. Unfortunately, she had a photographic memory which made it very painful for her. Her little face twisted into an unhappy expression. After writing for some time, she said in a surly tone to Rong Jing, "The light is too dim!"
Rong Jing reached out and adjusted the wick of the lamp.
"Still too dark!" Yun Qianyue deliberately caused trouble.
"Ling Lian!" Rong Jing called out loudly.
“Young Lord Jing, here!” Ling Lian promptly answered from outside.
"Light another lamp," he instructed Ling Lian.
"Yes!" Ling Lian immediately walked in.
Yun Qianyue pursed her lips and continued to write with the pen. This reminded her of when Yun Muhan supervised her studies after she had lost her memory because Phoenix Tribulation was activated; for the sake of pretending that she couldn’t even recognize a single character, she had endured great pain during those days. Today’s situation seemed similar to that time.
Ling Lian came in quickly and gave Yun Qianyue and Rong Jing a curious look before seeing women's teachings on Yun Qianyue’s desk and her miserable expression as she was writing it down; she immediately understood the situation. She pursed her lips, stifling a giggle, placed the lamp down and went out.
"Still dark!" Yun Qianyue lifted her head just in time to see Ling Lian suppressing a smile with pursed lips. She angrily shouted again.
"Fetch another lamp!" Rong Jing instructed again.
Ling Lian hesitated, immediately putting on a serious expression and quickly responded, "Yes."
Yun Qianyue glared at Rong Jing but continued copying.
Not long after, Ling Lian brought in another lamp and carefully placed it on the desk before looking at Yun Qianyue.
"If it's not bright enough, you can bring two more!" Rong Jing said leisurely.
Yun Qianyue snorted but didn't say anything.
Rong Jing instructed Ling Lian, "Leave now! Dinner will be served in half an hour."
"Yes!" This time, Ling Lian dared not laugh again and quickly left.
Listening to Rong Jing's words about half an hour later, Yun Qianyue glanced at the thick Women’s Precepts. She ground her teeth, realizing there was no way she could avoid this task today. She sped up her pace; the previously leisurely pen movements turned into a flurry of strokes, the sound of brush against paper echoing clearly in the quiet room.
Rong Jing looked at Yun Qianyue approvingly before slowly sitting down and pouring himself a cup of tea to sip calmly.
From outside the window, this scene would look like one elegant gentleman savoring his tea leisurely while another was frantically writing.
A stick of incense later, Yun Qianyue said, "My hand hurts!"
"Switch hands and write," Rong Jing suggested.
"You..." Yun Qianyue paused with her pen in mid-air, looking at him sternly. "Can't we write tomorrow"
"No, otherwise you won’t learn your lesson." Rong Jing shook his head, his gaze still gentle but firm.
Yun Qianyue rolled her eyes and switched the pen to her left hand, resuming her writing. After a moment, she suddenly said, "It wasn't my fault I got back late today; it was because someone set off firecrackers in the Three Floors of Five Lakes and Seas, trying to harm Little Seven."
"Seven Princes is ranked seventh," Rong Jing glanced at Yun Qianyue.
Yun Qianyue paused with her pen before looking up at Rong Jing.
"You should call him Jade Crown Prince or, given your friendship, you can simply refer to him as Yu Zishu. He is the eldest prince of Donghai and also the crown prince; in any case, he isn't seventh," said Rong Jing, looking at Yun Qianyue.
Yun Qianyue pursed her lips, lowering her head again and saying softly, "You're right, he is Yu Zishu."
"Keep writing then!" Rong Jing's tone turned gentle once more.
Yun Qianyue collected herself and continued writing.
Rong Jing didn't speak further; the room was quiet again as the sound of brush against paper resumed.
An hour later, after completing a copy of Women’s Precepts, Yun Qianyue put down her pen and asked Rong Jing, "Do I still need to recite it"
"No need," said Rong Jing as he took Yun Qianyue's hand, rubbing it gently. His tone was soft.
Yun Qianyue gave him a sideways glance and said, “Now you know how much my hand hurts If it swells tomorrow, don’t blame anyone but yourself.”
"I'm not upset about your return being late. I trust Jade Crown Prince and you; you wouldn't do anything to hurt me. What I’m upset about is that you haven’t realized this life is different from the last one, especially with Night Tianyi involved. You don’t see how he poses a threat to you by calling him Little Seven," Rong Jing’s tone was cool and detached. "Today in the palace, he had doubts about Jade Crown Prince, repeatedly probing, but the prince remained tight-lipped. No matter what, today when you returned to the city, he only used firecrackers to test you and you revealed your hand. Yun Qianyue, dealing with Yu Zishu’s matters, how can you ever improve Tell me, did you learn anything after copying this Women’s Precepts"
Yun Qianyue lowered her head and said softly, "I’ve learned! In the future, I will only call him by his name or Yu Zishu.
With a graceful gesture, Rong Jing reached out to pat her head and pulled her down to sit beside him. He then instructed someone outside, "They can serve dinner now."
The meal had been prepared by Ling Lian long ago. Hearing his words, she hurriedly responded and came in with Yi Xue.
Yun Qianyue’s eyes lit up when she saw the steamed fish with lotus leaves on the dining table. She looked at Rong Jing and asked, "How long has it been since I last had this"
"It seems like a very long time," Rong Jing said with a smile.
"To slap me and then give me a plum; what kind of person are you!" Yun Qianyue cursed, picking up her chopsticks and eating eagerly.
Rong Jing rubbed his forehead and sighed helplessly. "I didn’t intend to punish you in the first place. I just wanted to wait for you and Yu Prince to return before giving you this steamed fish as a sign of my kindness. Besides, Yu Prince doesn’t know how to make it."
Yun Qianyue’s lips curved into a smile. She looked at Rong Jing with a sideways glance and said, "So that's the reason"
"Yes!" Rong Jing nodded with a smile.
"People say to capture a man’s heart, you need to win his stomach first. In your case, it seems to be the other way round," Yun Qianyue said with amusement as she looked at him. The anger caused by the punishment of copying "The Female Code" vanished without a trace after his explanation. She didn’t doubt for a second the authenticity of what he was saying. This man could be adorable sometimes, and such thoughts were commonplace to him.
"Since you don’t buy into my stomach, I’ll just have to do it myself!" Rong Jing said with a smile.
Yun Qianyue chuckled softly and used her free hand to hold his. She clasped his hand tightly as she prolonged the syllables in her words, "Alright, Mister Rong, I understand. You’re telling me to win your stomach! I’ll remember it."
"Good, you have a good understanding of this," Rong Jing said with a smile.
Yun Qianyue rolled her eyes and didn’t say anything more but added another piece of fish on the plate in front of him.
The previous solemn atmosphere in the room was swept away, and they ate dinner happily together.
After finishing their meal at nightfall, Yun Qianyue felt tired from horse racing earlier. She yawned and saw Rong Jing still sitting by the table motionless. So she asked him, "Are you going back to the Glory王府 (Palace) or staying here for the night"
She suddenly thought that her words sounded awkward.
"I’ll stay here tonight," said Rong Jing with a gentle smile as he stood up and took off his coat. He then looked at Yun Qianyue, "It’s been a long time since I last hugged you to sleep. I miss it."
Yun Qianyue blushed and was speechless for the moment.
Rong Jing put his moon-white silk robe on the hanger before turning around and looking at Yun Qianyue, who had a rosy face sitting by the table. He smiled gently and walked over slowly, bending down to look into her eyes. "Are you feeling shy"
"Shy Little girls did that ages ago, I wouldn’t!" Yun Qianyue said as she looked away with a firm voice.
Rong Jing stared at her face and didn’t say anything more; he just gazed at her quietly, his eyes filled with tenderness like water.
Yun Qianyue felt his gaze and couldn’t help but feel her heart fluttering.
After staring at her for a while, Rong Jing suddenly chuckled softly as he placed his hand over her chest. "Your heartbeat is so fast!"
Yun Qianyue pushed his hand away with one of hers and said angrily, "Go back to your Glory Palace then!"
Rong Jing’s smile spread wider; he held onto her hand with the other hand. Bending down, he leaned close to her ear and whispered lowly, "We haven’t been intimate for a long time. It seems like you’re out of practice. I don’t mind helping you regain your skill tonight."
Yun Qianyue’s face turned even redder; she raised her eyes to look at him, reminding him, "It will be less than a month before my coming-of-age ceremony!"
Rong Jing made a soft sound of acknowledgment. "But I can’t wait until then."
"It’s not appropriate for minors to do that…" Yun Qianyue said with difficulty.
"Didn't you always want me in the past Did you ever think about waiting until I turned 20" Rong Jing looked at her flushed face, which was particularly eye-catching and enchanting under the dim lighting. He murmured softly with a hint of temptation: "I wasn't prepared back then, but now I'm ready!"
"I'm not ready yet!" Yun Qianyue's voice suddenly grew louder.
“Hmm” Rong Jing raised an eyebrow.
Yun Qianyue met Rong Jing’s eyes. There was a whirlpool in them that seemed to want to pull her into it, making her heartbeat accelerate faster as she tried and failed to look away. After a moment, she suddenly closed her eyes, thinking of going all out.
Rong Jing suddenly laughed, bent down to pick Yun Qianyue up from the chair, took steps towards the large bed, placed her gently on it, undid his outerwear buttons one by one, pulled off the ribbon, and was left with only the silk undergarment. He hung the rest of his clothes on the post beside the bed. After finishing everything, he looked at Yun Qianyue's closed eyes, deepening his smile as he slowly climbed onto the bed, pulling her into his arms, pressing his lips to her ear and whispering softly: "Go to sleep."
"Sleep" Yun Qianyue opened her eyes.
“Don’t you want to sleep” Rong Jing asked, his eyes sparkling brilliantly.
Yun Qianyue yawned and quickly said: "Of course I want to sleep. Today's horse race tired me out." Saying that, she hurriedly closed her eyes again.
Rong Jing didn't say anything more, closing his own eyes as well.
The curtains inside the bed area used to be cold and desolate when it was just him, but now with someone else there, it felt warm and cozy.
Yun Qianyue cursed herself for her weakness. She had always planned on taking advantage of him earlier, yet at this moment she suddenly became timid. Thinking about the previous life as Li Yun and this life as Yun Qianyue, what was there to be scared of Now, however, she felt uneasy when closer to home or possibly because she waited so long that she didn't want a hasty union without a proper timing Anyway, these mixed feelings made her heart race.
"Yun Qianyue, you finally have a conscience!" Rong Jing suddenly said something.
Yun Qianyue was interrupted in her thoughts and opened her eyes to look at him, puzzled by his sudden remark.
Rong Jing pulled Yun Qianyue's delicate body closer into his arms, sighed softly with satisfaction and said: "I waited for you so long that it seemed like an eternity. Ten years flew by for you as if they were a blink of an eye, but to me, each day felt like a year. It wasn't because I was suffering from cold poison and couldn’t bear it; in my view, being tormented by you was the worst pain."
Yun Qianyue blinked.
"For quite some time, I thought you would truly marry Ye Tianyi and become a member of the royal family. I longed to have you live in Purple Bamboo Grove in Prince Rong's Manor but my body wasn’t cooperative; every attempt was thwarted by the fact that I had so little time left to live. Later on, after ten years of struggling, it dawned on me that rather than dying with regrets, why not take you and make you mine Even if I die, at least you will remember me. But fatefully enough, you were the one who alleviated my cold poison and stubborn illness. Uncle Lian never dared to try for fear he might fail and hasten my demise instead. Because of such concerns, he couldn't completely cure me over ten years even though he helped me survive each year’s perilous event, while you had no reservations, persisting until the end which fulfilled my wish. Since heaven made me exist because of you, how could I possibly let you go" Rong Jing spoke in a steady stream like calm flowing water.
“What did you start talking about this for” Yun Qianyue rested her head on his arm and looked up at his profile.
Rong Jing smiled, eyes softening as he said: "I just wanted to let you know that I've thought of having you for ten years, which is too long. So, when you want me now, it's like how I felt back then – nervous and timid. This is the same as my past self. Therefore, Yun Qianyue, you have a conscience now; I truly reside in your heart."
“So you’ve been circling around to say this all along!” Yun Qianyue rolled her eyes.
"Then what would you like me to say" Rong Jing chuckled softly. His breath brushed across her ear, his voice sounding musical in the dark.
“How much did you drink today” Yun Qianyue changed the subject.
“I don’t remember,” Rong Jing shook his head.
"You smell very strongly of alcohol!" Yun Qianyue pursed her lips and closed her eyes, then suddenly remembered something and opened them again: "The Prince of Xiangqin Manor and the Prince of Dekin Manor are important figures to the old emperor. The old emperor favors Ye Tianyi; thus if they follow his orders, they would support him by welcoming him into their manors. Logically speaking, if Ye Tianyi wanted to test something out, he shouldn’t have chosen Xiangqin Manor’s Four Seas Casino. If Zi Shu were to pursue this matter today, the Four Seas Casino of Xiangqin Manor might shut down. A shutdown would be extremely detrimental for Xiangqin Manor's finances since they rely on it as their main income source. Only with financial backing could one act smoothly; what was Ye Tianyi thinking Could he really risk putting Xiangqin Manor in jeopardy just to test me and Zi Shu"
Upon hearing this, Rong Jing said indifferently: "Did you forget that Xiangqin Manor also has Leng Shaohuo"
Yun Qianyue's thoughts turned as she looked at Rong Jing.
"Leng Shaohuo is an oddity in the Xiangqin Manor, and also an oddity of the Tian Sheng Dynasty. He transformed from a villain to a saint, changing from someone who wanted to attack you to one who shielded you with his life. As the treasured son of Prince Xiangqin, he has become a variable for Xiangqin Manor now. Ye Tianyi chose the Four Seas Casino in Xiangqin Manor mainly because it’s a place where all kinds of people mix together, and secondly to give Prince Xiangqin a warning," Rong Jing explained.
“What if I tell Zi Shu to shut down the Five Lakes and Four Seas Casino” Yun Qianyue asked quietly after a moment.
"Whether or not you investigate, it's none of the Seventh Prince’s business. It concerns only Prince Xiangqin. In his life, there are two things he absolutely can't provoke: one is his cherished son Leng Shaohuo and the other is Five Lakes and Four Seas Casino," Rong Jing said slowly. "If you make Crown Prince Yu shut down Five Lakes and Four Seas Casino, then in the future, regardless of who's right or wrong, Prince Xiangqin will have to settle accounts with Crown Prince Yu. He’s an old fox that can retreat and advance at will, a master of flexibility."
Yun Qianyue frowned.
"Go to sleep! First, let's see what the Prince of Filial Piety will come up with!" Rong Jing patted Yun Qianyue's body.
Yun Qianyue nodded and closed her eyes, no longer thinking about it.
That night, the two of them slept in each other’s embrace and had a good sleep.
The next day, Rong Jing got up, and Yun Qianyue also woke up at the same time. After Rong Jing was dressed properly, he went to court. Yun Qianyue lay on her bed lazily with her eyes open staring at the ceiling. After gazing straight at the ceiling for about half an hour, she finally got up.
After breakfast, Yun Qianyue originally wanted to call Ling Lian to prepare a carriage to go to the Royal Residence of Glory. However, Ling Lian had already passed on the message that in today's court session, His Majesty was furious at the Prince of Filial Piety for failing to find the culprit when Jade Prince Consort was almost injured by firecrackers in the Five Lakes and Four Seas Casino yesterday. The Emperor ordered the Prince of Filial Piety to shut down the casino and give an explanation to Prince Consort of East Sea, who had been summoned to the Golden Hall early this morning.
Hearing this news, Yun Qianyue canceled her plan to go to Royal Residence of Glory. After a moment's thought, she instructed Ling Lian: "I haven't entered the palace for several days now. You prepare everything; I will go visit my aunt today!"
"Yes!" Immediately, Ling Lian went down to prepare the carriage.
After preparing the carriage, Yun Qianyue left the Moonlit Hall and walked toward the main entrance of Cloud王府大門. Upon arriving at the main gate of Cloud Manor, just as she was about to get in the carriage, she saw a hurriedly approaching carriage from Prince Consort No. 4's residence. She stopped and watched as the carriage approached.
Soon enough, the carriage from Prince Consort No. 4’s residence arrived, and the curtain was lifted up, revealing Ye Tianyu's face. He looked delighted upon seeing Yun Qianyue and hurriedly said: "Moon Sister, I’ve been looking for you to discuss something!"
"What is it" Yun Qianyue thought that Prince Consort No. 4 would be getting married the next day; a month had passed so quickly.
“You know, Haner’s parents have left the capital and returned home. She has no relatives here in the capital, as she was originally an orphaned girl who grew up alone. Therefore, there are no close female friends for her to rely on in this city. However, I want to give her a grand wedding like other women would receive, with eight sedan chairs carrying her into my residence. But obviously, we can't carry her from the West Warm Pavilion to the East Warm Pavilion, so what I wanted to do was…” Ye Tianyu seemed hesitant as he looked at Yun Qianyue.
“I understand,” Yun Qianyue interrupted him, “you want us to send her off from Cloud Manor, right”
“Exactly!” Ye Tianyu nodded and looked at Yun Qianyue with a probing expression: "If you don't agree, just forget I mentioned it. After all, you've helped me so much that day. Although you have never called me brother, we grew up together as siblings, and elder brothers shouldn’t make things difficult for younger ones."
Yun Qianyue suddenly smiled and waved off his concerns with a shrug: "What's there to be difficult about I've already gotten used to offending my aunt, the Emperor. Bring her here! We’ve never sent a daughter out from Cloud Manor before, so let’s just have Father King acknowledge her as an adopted daughter, while I’ll treat her like a sister and arrange for her to get married from Cloud Manor tomorrow!"
"You really agree" Ye Tianyu's eyes lit up.
“When did I ever lie” Yun Qianyue arched an eyebrow in response.
Seeing that Yun Qianyue didn't seem to be feigning anything, Ye Tianyu relaxed his expression and smiled: "Since Cloud Manor hasn’t given a daughter away before, I was worried about your hesitation. Now since you don’t mind, brother will bring her over!"
“Alright!” Yun Qianyue nodded with a smile. "Fortunately, the wedding preparations for Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law were all handled by me previously; I have some experience in this matter. Although one day is tight, I’ll still make sure everything is done properly for you! You just rest assured!"
“Thank you, Sister! With your words, I’m at ease now. I will send her over right away.” After saying that and seeing Yun Qianyue nod in agreement, Ye Tianyu pulled down the curtain and instructed his carriage driver to leave Cloud Manor's entrance promptly.
Yun Qianyue thought about how much effort Prince Consort No. 4 was putting into this; no matter what happened in the end, Zhao Kehan would be considered a fortunate woman.
"Miss, are we going to the palace" Ling Lian asked softly.
Yun Qianyue waved dismissively: "Let's postpone it for another day. Aunt has been in the palace nurturing her pregnancy and there’s not much going on; I just wanted to visit out of habit after a few days without seeing her. For now, let's focus on Prince Consort No. 4’s matter first. Have Green Branch and Jade Bracelet start preparing right away to decorate Cloud Manor for an auspicious occasion. I’ll wait in the Moonlit Hall for Miss Zhao."
"Yes!" Ling Lian immediately left.
Yun Qianyue glanced at the prepared carriage before returning inside.
Not long after she returned to the Moonlit Hall, Ye Tianyu brought Zhao Kehan over. Compared to a month ago, Zhao Kehan seemed fuller and more delicate, indicating that Prince Consort No. 4 treated her well; her former sternness had softened into feminine tenderness.
After delivering Zhao Kehan, Ye Tianyu rushed back to prepare for the wedding.
Yun Qianyue smiled as she pulled Zhao Kehan's hand and arranged a room in Moonlit Hall for her. Soon enough, Princess No. 7 heard the news and arrived too; despite their different personalities, these three women all had strong wills and soon started chatting amicably.
After Cloud Marquis returned from court, Yun Qianyue sent someone to invite him over. Upon hearing that Zhao Kehan was about to be married off from the Cloud王府 and adopted as Yun Qianyue's foster sister according to her wishes, he smiled and agreed. Thus, at noon, a simple ceremony was held during which Zhao Kehan became the foster daughter of Cloud Marquis.
This day passed swiftly amidst casual conversations among the three women and the flurry of preparations in the Cloud王府.
The next morning, before dawn, Zhao Kehan woke up to be dressed and made up by a large group of maids and nannies. Yun Qianyue accompanied her throughout the process. She had overseen both her brother's wedding and now her sister's; she was well-versed in all aspects of an ancient Chinese marriage ceremony from both the groom’s and bride’s perspectives. She secretly thought that with so much experience, there would be no need to panic when it came to her own wedding.
Once dressed properly, at the auspicious hour, they left Zhao Kehan's room. As a sister, Yun Qianyue accompanied her instead of the traditional matchmaker, walking all the way to the main gate of the Cloud王府.
The gates of the Cloud王府 were tightly shut, with drums and gongs sounding outside, and suona horns played melodiously everywhere; it covered all other sounds in the capital city, creating an atmosphere filled only with joyous music.
Yun Qianyue thought that Night Tianyu had given Zhao Kehan an impressive display of extravagance.
Beneath her red veil, Zhao Kehan faintly revealed a blissful smile. With Yun Qianyue's support, she walked steadily step by step. Following Yun Qianyue’s instructions, Linglian and Yixue, Tingshu, Tingxue, and other Cloud王府 maidservants stood at the door peering through the crack to demand red envelopes from Night Tianyu, who was dressed in a new groom's attire. Whether it was because he understood Yun Qianyue’s nature or had received high-level guidance, he prepared plenty of red envelopes beforehand and threw them through the gate along with sweets, covering the entire inner courtyard entrance.
Speechless at seeing the scene where coins, silver, candies, and charms littered the ground, Yun Qianyue finally let out a sentence after a moment’s silence: "He really is wealthy beyond measure!"
Zhao Kehan chuckled softly before whispering into Yun Qianyue's ear, “The Fourth Prince told me something last night. Do you want to hear it”
“If they are love words between the two of you, there’s no need for him to tell me; if it concerns me, I’ll listen,” Yun Qianyue glanced at Zhao Kehan and thought it must be about her.
Zhao Kehan, with a hint of amusement in her voice, replied: “Tianyu told me last night that when he was informed someone would come to pick him up from the Cloud王府, some people said they liked to play around and had insufficient silver; without enough money, they couldn't be taken away. He suggested I should handle it as I saw fit. Thus, today he has everything prepared.”
“Rong Jing!” Yun Qianyue muttered the name when Zhao Kehan finished speaking.
Zhao Kehan nodded with a smile, “That’s Prince Si Jing!”
"This scheming fellow! Just wait!" Yun Qianyue gritted her teeth inwardly and instructed the gatekeepers: "Tell Night Tianyu to jump in through the main gate and carry his bride out; otherwise, he won’t be able to take her away."
The guards followed her instructions and shouted loudly outside.
There was a brief pause before Night Tianyu, dressed in grand red wedding attire, leaped into the courtyard from the top of the gate. Standing steady, he bowed respectfully towards Yun Qianyue and said with a smile: “Sister Moon has worked hard!”
Yun Qianyue glared at him, "After all this hardship for you, no red envelope"
"There is!" Night Tianyu took out an extremely small jade fan from his pocket and handed it to Yun Qianyue with a smile. “Is this satisfactory”
Yun Qianyue accepted the jade fan and noticed it was a twelve-bone one, but much smaller than Cang Ting’s, nearly half its size. Upon handling it, she discovered that despite its small size, it was actually an ingenious weapon concealing golden needles. She immediately became satisfied; her expression brightened into a wide smile as she said to Night Tianyu: “You’ve passed the test! Now carry your bride away!”
Night Tianyu let out a sigh of relief and carried Zhao Kehan horizontally over his shoulder, leaping outside through the gate.
After he left, Yun Qianyue instructed to open the main gates. Zhao Kehan was already seated in the flower sedan chair while Night Tianyu sat atop his horse; there were also several spare horses beside him. Seeing Yun Qianyue approach, Night Tianyu waved at her and pointed towards a horse by his side: “Sister Moon, come up! Will you accompany me back to my residence”
Yun Qianyue stared speechlessly at him, “Aren't you the groom Who accompanies the bridegroom during a wedding procession”
"You've done enough unconventional things; one more won’t hurt. Come up!" Night Tianyu said and when he saw Yun Qianyue standing still, lowered his voice to her: “I’m worried something might go wrong. With you around, I feel at ease. Please come with me!”
“Alright,” Yun Qianyue nodded decisively and gracefully leaped onto the horse.
The wedding procession led by a groom followed by an unconventional female companion left the Cloud王府 gates in a leisurely manner, creating quite a spectacle seldom seen even over thousands of years.
Yesterday’s solemn capital city transformed overnight into a place brimming with festive joy and splendor, covered in red attire and flowers.
In the gazes of the people of the capital, Yun Qianyue accompanied Night Tianyu on his wedding journey into the residence of the Fourth Prince.
